The Betty Benson Bursary – Deadline approaching!
Are you a member of Sharnbrook Mill Theatre? Do you want to learn a new theatre-based skill? Do you want to brush up on performance or technical matters? Take a look below at our The Mill can help you!
Thanks to a generous donation, we are pleased and proud to be able to offer the Betty Benson Members’ Bursary – open to all members (adults and youth). Betty was a founding member of the Trust and was keen to ensure the survival, not only of the Trust, but of the skills needed to keep the high quality productions for generations to come.
Each year, the Trust will provide a sum of up to £500 towards the cost of a Sharnbrook Mill Theatre Member attending a training course that is beneficial to both the member and the Trust.
Courses that would be considered can range from any form of performing arts training to creative and technical training such as stage lighting, choreography or stage management. Examples of legitimate uses of the Bursary include:
- Attending the NODA Summer School.
- Attending the ROSS Adult Performance Summer School.
- Attending a training course to help with a specific aspect of production.
The deadline for applications is 31st October for funding of a course next year. Please include which course you’d like to take and why it would benefit you and the Trust. A sub-committee compromised of members from the Production Committee and Executive Management Committee (EMC) will judge the applications and choose one to support. The successful applicant will be advised no later than the end of January of the course year.
We are happy to accept applications from Members via our online contact form. Applications will be forwarded to the sub-committee.
We’re really excited about the Bursary and what it is able to do for one of our Members, so we encourage you to find a course/experience that would be of benefit and for you to apply!
