Sound Design and Operation

Perhaps you are more interested in the technical aspects of running a show at the theatre than the actual performing. If so you may like to join our team of sound technicians who design and operate the show’s sound system. In theatre the sound system is usually operated from a central “board” – at the Mill this is located at the rear of the auditorium. Operators must know and understand the board inside out and be able to use it for audio cues, for example loading a sound effect such as a knock at the door, a ‘phone ringing, or background music. Whether you already have these skills or would like to learn them, you will be very welcome at the Mill. Contact us for more information.
