The Hound of the Baskervilles
by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Adapted by Steven Canny and John Nicholson for Peepolykus
5th to 9th March, nightly at 7.30pm
It’s elementary, my dear Watson!
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are summoned from Baker Street to unravel the mysteries of the death of Sir Charles Baskerville in this gloriously funny makeover of the celebrated classic story.
This laugh-a-minute show is funny, ridiculous, hilarious and sometimes trouser-less! Just three actors tackle bring Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s story to life, just not exactly as he planned! This slapstick comedy, full of physical theatre and countless costume changes has its tongue firmly rooted in its cheek.
There’s murder, saunas, fake food, hermits, senoritas, and Sherlock himself.
Director Keith Hargreaves said: “If Conan Doyle was still alive, his lawyers would be having a field day!”
Will they solve the mystery before it’s too late? Will Watson ever get to eat? It seems unlikely!
