Coming next year: Our Man in Havana from White Cobra!

White Cobra presents Our Man in Havana. Coming 15th February 2025 at 7.30pm to Sharnbrook Mill Theatre!

The 1950s and 1960s were a great time for spy fiction in the UK. James Bond, Harry Palmer… and Jim Wormold!

But Jim has no aspiration, or inclination, to act On Her Majesty’s Secret Service: he’s enjoying life as a vacuum cleaner salesman in pre-revolutionary Cuba!

However, the offer of employment gives Jim the opportunity to fund his daughter’s increasingly extravagant lifestyle, so he accepts the chance to work as an agent for a grateful London. The only problem is, he knows nothing of any use! In order to keep his master happy he takes the advice of his friend Dr. Hasselbacher that the best secrets are known to no-one.

Jim decides to manufacture a list of agents and provides fictional tales and is soon seen as the best agent in the Western Hemisphere. But, it all begins to unravel when the local police decode his cables and start rounding up his “network”.

Originally a novel by Graham Greene, and now adapted by Clive Francis, this play is based on the classic British film starring Alec Guinness and Noel Coward.

A cast of dozens of colourful Cuban characters is brought to life by a cast of four increasingly frantic actors as the net closes in on Jim.

Tickets will be available for this guest production/fundraiser in the New Year.
